Grade Equivalency Guide
Q195 — Chinese GB/T 700 and GB/T 5213 standard. Low-carbon structural steel with yield strength from 195 MPa. Widely specified in domestic Chinese appliances, construction, and general metalworking.
SPCC — Japanese JIS G3141 standard. The benchmark commercial-quality cold rolled steel across Asia. "Steel Plate Cold Commercial" denotes general-purpose use with excellent surface quality for exposed applications.
ST12 — German DIN 1623 standard. The traditional European commercial-quality designation, still widely referenced in machinery, automotive supply chains, and export contracts across Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
DC01 — European EN 10130 standard. The modern unified designation replacing older national standards. Mandatory for CE-marked products and preferred by OEMs operating under European technical regulations.
All four grades are chemically and mechanically interchangeable for standard applications. We stock and produce to all four specifications, allowing you to match your customer's exact documentation and certification requirements without material substitution risks.

Manufacturing Process
Production begins with prime hot-rolled pickled coil. The strip enters a tandem cold rolling mill where automatic gauge control holds thickness variation to within a few hundredths of a millimeter across the full width. After cold reduction, the strip travels through a continuous annealing furnace where precise temperature profiling recrystallizes the grain structure, restoring the ductility lost during cold work.
A final skin pass — light rolling under controlled tension — sets the surface texture, eliminates yield-point elongation to prevent stretcher strain marks, and locks in flatness. The coil is then inspected, edge-trimmed if required, and surface-treated with a thin protective oil film before precision recoiling and packaging.
Surface Quality
Commercial-quality cold rolled steel is held to strict surface standards. The finish is free from scale, pits, scratches, and rust. Minor imperfections such as slight roughness or very light roller marks are permissible within standard tolerances and do not affect structural integrity or paint adhesion.
For applications where cosmetic perfection is critical — exposed appliance panels, visible automotive trim, or decorative metalwork — we offer special surface quality upgrades with enhanced inspection protocols and tighter defect limits.
Processing Services
We do more than supply coil. Our in-house processing center offers slitting to precision widths, cut-to-length shearing for flat sheets, precision blanking for nested stampings, and edge trimming to remove mill edge variability. We also supply degreased, leveled, and tension-leveled material for customers who require ready-to-use feedstock.
FAQ
