Production Process of Hot-Rolled Carbon Steel Coils

1. Steelmaking - Continuous Casting: Ironmaking → Converter/Electric Furnace Steelmaking → Vacuum Degassing → Continuous casting machine pours slabs at 800–1000°C, enabling direct transfer to hot rolling for energy savings and reduced consumption.

2. Reheating-Descaling: Slabs enter a walking-beam furnace for homogenization at 1150–1250°C → Upon exit, primary scale is removed via 15–20 MPa high-pressure water jets, preventing embedding into the surface.

3. Rough Rolling (Reversible): Reduces thickness from 200 mm to 30–40 mm while controlling width; Equipped with a heat retention hood at the exit to ensure head-to-tail temperature difference ≤30°C.

4. Finish Rolling: Total reduction rate of stands F1–F7 is 80–90%, with a final rolling temperature of 820–880°C. Rapid cooling water adjustment between stands achieves “controlled rolling and controlled cooling” to refine grain structure.

5. Laminar Cooling-Coiling: 80–120 laminar nozzles cool the strip at 20–50 °C/s to 550–650 °C → enters coiler for coiling (ID 762 mm, OD 1200–2100 mm) → collected on exit roller table.

A:Q235B plates ≤40 mm thickness may be welded at ambient temperature; for A36 plates ≥25 mm thickness or when ambient temperature <5°C, preheating to 80–120°C is recommended, with controlled heat input.
