In July 2026, Tianjin Emerson Trading Co., Ltd. welcomed a group of special guests—customer representatives from Saudi Arabia and professional inspectors from SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance), an internationally recognized testing organization. The three parties jointly conducted a rigorous pre-shipment inspection of 600 tons of AH36 marine steel plates exported by the company, successfully completing all inspection procedures. The goods have been successfully shipped as planned.
AH36 marine steel plates are high-strength hull structural steels certified by classification societies, with a minimum yield strength of 51 ksi (approximately 355 MPa) and specified Charpy V-notch impact toughness requirements. They are widely used in shipbuilding, ship repair, and other marine engineering fields. The 600 tons of AH36 ship plates exported this time cover various specifications, with thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 120mm, widths from 1200mm to 4000mm, and lengths from 5000mm to 18000mm, meeting the construction needs of different hull structures.
During the inspection, SGS inspectors and the Saudi client representative conducted a comprehensive review of the chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances, and surface quality of our AH36 ship plates, in accordance with international standards and classification society regulations. SGS, as an internationally recognized inspection, verification, testing, and certification company, provides testing services covering all stages from product design to delivery. At the inspection site, SGS inspectors visually inspected each steel plate, measured key dimensions such as thickness, width, and length using professional instruments, and randomly selected samples for later testing. The Saudi client representative participated in and witnessed every inspection procedure.
Our professional team demonstrated a high level of cooperation and technical expertise during the inspection. From hoisting and positioning, surface cleaning to dimensional measurement and document verification, each step was seamlessly integrated and performed according to regulations. Regarding the mechanical properties and low-temperature impact toughness indicators, which were of particular concern to the Saudi client, our technicians retrieved the corresponding furnace batch records and classification society certification documents on-site, verified each item, and answered questions, earning high praise from the client.
After several days of rigorous inspection, all 600 tons of AH36 ship plates passed the joint acceptance inspection by SGS and the Saudi customer, with all indicators meeting the requirements of the export contract and classification society specifications. The goods were successfully loaded into containers and shipped according to the established plan after the inspection.
The successful completion of this inspection fully demonstrates our company's professional capabilities in the entire process of marine steel plate production, from raw material procurement and processing to quality control and export delivery. The Saudi customer highly praised our product quality, factory management, and service level, and expressed their intention to continue cooperation. In the future, Tianjin Emerson will continue to uphold the philosophy of "quality first, customer foremost," repaying the trust of global customers with even better products and services.
