Welding Process
1. Confirm materials, thickness, welding process type, and load requirements with the customer.
2. Conduct welding procedure qualification (WPS/PQR).
3. Prepare materials: perform beveling, degreasing, and rust removal on sheet metal raw materials.
4. Fixtures: Control deformation, back-side shielding (argon shielding for stainless steel).
5. Begin welding.
6. Inspect product thickness, bend tolerance, and perform performance testing.
7. Surface treatment: Perform spatter removal, grinding, galvanizing, stress relief annealing, powder coating/anodizing, etc., per customer requirements.

FAQ
Q: Which is more suitable for thin workpieces: plasma arc welding or laser welding?
A: Microbeam plasma welding (0.1–30 A) can weld materials from 0.025 to 2.5 mm thick. Laser welding offers lower heat input. For batch production of materials below 0.3 mm, laser welding is preferred. For materials between 0.3 and 2 mm, microbeam plasma welding provides better cost-effectiveness.
Q: What is the maximum thickness for laser welding in a single pass?
A: Carbon steel up to 6 mm and stainless steel up to 8 mm can achieve full penetration. For small-aperture welding, 10 mm stainless steel requires 10 kW power and a Y-shaped bevel.
Q: Why is beveling required? Which type saves the most welding material?
A: Beveling ensures root penetration. For carbon steel plates thicker than 6 mm with low stress requirements, prioritize a I-shaped bevel with back-side root cleaning. This saves 30% more welding material than a 60° V-groove.
Q: Is blackening after stainless steel welding considered defective?
A: When the surface oxide layer thickness is ≤ 200 nm, it can be restored to silver-white using acid paste for 5 minutes. If the oxide layer is excessively thick or peeling, it must be classified as “overheated” and requires grinding and rewelding.
Q: Do you provide samples? We need to conduct quality inspections.
A: We offer custom samples and support inspections. We hold ISO 9001 certification and RoHS compliance.
Q: How can I get your quotation as soon as possible?
